Sep. 5--In politics, as in business, is it a case of you get what you pay for? For many years, at least in the Flagstaff region, that wasn't true. Members of the nonpartisan city council and school board served with minimal pay or none at all. The county board of supervisors and the Legislature paid what amounted to part-time salaries for full-time commitments.
